Next week we are beginning our Lenten study using Dr. Graham Tomlin’s book Looking Through the Cross. A good review of the book is HERE. If we haven’t seen you in a while, this book presents a good opportunity for you to join us or to invite someone new. The book is very accessible. Tomlin avoids complex terminology and does a good job of explaining both his terms and his topic. At the same, however, he allows us to deeply explore the meaning of the cross and how it does and should impact our lives. If you need a book, please let me know and we may be able to have one to you by Sunday or at least by Tuesday. For Tuesday, please read the introduction and the first chapter “The Cross and Wisdom.” If you have time, also please read through one of the Passion Narratives as well – Matt. 26-27, Mark 14-15, Luke 22-23, or John 18-19.
Dinner is at 6. Discussion about 6:45. Please bring a friend or neighbor.
For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
