Just a reminder that tonight our gathering is continuing our study with Ephesians 2 (if you haven’t read yet, don’t sweat it). Last night I read this article from the Huffington Post (8/4/13) talking about how Paul, like Jesus, lived and died as a Jew. The writer says “Paul’s vision was to make his brand of Judaism — with the recognition of Jesus as the Jewish Messiah — a world religion easily accessible to everyone.” This is the theme of Ephesians 2 – that the promises of Judaism are now open to everyone. Please take a look at the article. It provides some good background on Paul, the imprisonment during which he wrote Ephesians, and his understanding of the church as simply a graft on the ancient religion of Abraham.
The menu tonight is grilled gourmet hot dogs with homemade sweet potato mustard and bleu cheese slaw accompanied by Amy’s baked beans. Dinner is at 6. If you want to bring something, please bring a guest. For this week only, you can park across the street in the circular driveway. Hope to see you here.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
