Please remember that we are gathering this evening to read through the parable of the Rich Fool in Luke12:13-34 and the Waiting Servants in Luke 12:35-48. As you read through and think about these parables, please pay particular attention to the immediate reason Jesus is telling the respective parables and Jesus’ follow-up teachings to the parables. If you have time, please read through Bailey’s analysis of the Servants Waiting once more. It appears that Jesus has compressed the entirety of who he is into this one very short story.
Dinner is at 6. Menu is chicken pot pie. Discussion about 6:45. No reading beforehand is required. Hope to see you here.
“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give alms; provide yourselves with purses that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
