1 Corinthians 5:1-6:11, pt.2

Please remember that tonight we are gathering to read through 1 Corinthians 5:1-6:11.  Although this reading is generally concerned with sex, that is not the only ground given by Paul to expel a member of the congregation.  In the news this week was a pronouncement from Pope Francis that members of the mafia had separated themselves from the church, and were “excommunicated.”

Dinner is at 6. The menu this week is baked potato bar.  Hope to see you here.

Early in the morning he came again to the temple. All the people came to him, and he sat down and taught them. The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?”

John 8:2-5
